The Quenching and Distortion Engineering conference series follows up on the former series of IDE, organized by IWT Bremen, Germany, and QCD, organized by IFHTSE. These two have been merged into the QDE series. In 2021 the QDE conference is also part of the European Conference on Heat Treatment series which is supported by european organisations. Consequently the ECHT and QDE conference will cover both aspects:
ECHT and QCD 2021 will present actual findings and developments from industry and science on the central topics of the conference Quenching and Control of Distortion. In particular, three keynote lectures on these central topics will be presented, highlighting the points of quenching in gases, quenching in liquids, respectively, and the direct links between quenching and distortion. In addition to these aspects, contributions on quenching and partitioning, quenching and tempering and austempering will be presented. Furthermore, new findings on material behavior during heat treatment obtained by using in-situ measurement methods will be presented.
